Thanks for those tips, Dirk. I probably need to apply them soon enough in order to put what could easily be 90 mins. of content in a slot of 45 mins (and even allow for room to interact with the audience and respond to questions).

By the way, this is yet another reason why i believe there should be no bullet points in a presentation (apart from maybe a few to summarise your points at the end of the presentation or topic). When the bullet points are on the screen, you can no longer skip them (or show the audience that you're rushing through them). If you have a picture or simple diagram, and you're the master of your story, you can easily make things a bit shorter or longer, depending on the time left.

Thanks, Ronald. This also reminds me of a comment from a speaker (I think it was Brian Marick) who said that having slides with photos makes it easier to move them around - or take out (which brings us back to the topic :)
