Hi Dirk. This could work, but the pitcher and the driver have to be well prepared. I think it takes a lot of rehearsal to make this work perfectly. And if you can take the time to rehearse and rehearse, i'm wondering if the same amount of time couldn't be invested in such a way that clicking the remote at the right moment becomes a non-issue.

In real life, i see this type of cooperation not being done at all. The result: "Next slide, Scotty!"

Ronald,
thanks for your comment. As mentioned in the article, it's certainly not for your average presentation (and yes, I've seen that "next slide, please" thing happening, too). I've seen it work, though, and I can see it making sense in very specific circumstances, e.g. some forms of startup pitches.

You have a point there with it requiring so much practice that the presenter could just as well have perfected the use of the remote in the same time. I think the real bonus is in when it comes to technical problems: The presenter can just continue without missing a beat, completely ignoring and not bothering about what happened to the slides. Startup pitches have turned into a bit of an art form with their own rules and expectations, and this appears to be one of them.

All makes sense, Dirk, although we all know that technology never fails. ;-). Thanks for your reply.
