Cultural differences can influence this. If no questions in response to chairman's request I would offer personally add the speaker, scan the room and then make my exit offering first to answer any questions over coffee.

Sometimes, the presentation is so poor though that the audience doesn't want to give you an opportunity to enforce this point as well...
